Steve Cannon is passionate about making a difference. That he has chosen to produce a DVD series on addiction, recovery and hope is no accident. Created for rehab treatment centers, awareness programs and others, Humor in Treatment was the ideal vehicle to reach a specific rehab and addiction recovery audience with impact.

Starting in Hollywood as a production assistant, Cannon worked his way up with virtually every position in a film crew. “I wanted to know what each job involved,” he says. With almost 200 television commercials, six full-length feature films, several music videos and infomercials to his production credits, he has worked both in the US and abroad. He has worked with the three most elusive variables: children, water and animals. Not to mention extreme climates.
“One time on a December shoot in Northern Arizona, it was so cold our camera cables snapped repeatedly," he says. ”We've also shot car commercials in the Mohave Desert in over 120 degrees. People were collapsing, and the equipment overheated." Let's just say Steve Cannon is no stranger to challenge.
Prior to the film industry, Cannon was a business graduate of the University of Arizona, and a risk manager in Chicago. He settled in Los Angeles, and after a successful stint in the logistics business, found his calling. “MTV came of age, and I loved the powerful effect of synchronizing images with sound and music,” he says. “It was like making magic.”
Grateful to work at something he loves, today he is committed to producing meaningful content with a message. Cannon has several projects in development including a documentary on addiction, a book he’s developing into a film, an animated series and a dramatic series for television, among others. All of which matter.
